Watermill Courtside
Watermill Courtside is a Hamptons property on the East End of Long Island, with seating built around a tennis court and the pool terrace beside it.
A Northeast season is short and intense, then followed by winter. That changes the specification. Furniture has to look right for a twelve week season of heavy use, then survive either covered storage or an off-season outdoors under snow load and freeze-thaw cycles. Teak handles that better than any softwood or coated aluminium finish, because it has no coating to lift and its natural oils resist rot without treatment. Stainless hardware means nothing seizes or stains when the pieces come back out in May.
Courtside seating was kept low and quiet so it does not compete visually with play, with the pool terrace given deeper lounge seating and a dining group. Upholstery uses Sunbrella solution-dyed acrylic in a neutral range, cut and sewn in South Carolina with quick-dry foam so cushions can stay out through summer rain rather than being carried in and out.
