GRADE-A TEAK
Our frames are master-crafted from sustainably harvested Grade-A teak, the world’s most durable and prestigious hardwood for outdoor environments.
- The Integrity: High in natural oils and exceptionally dense, our teak is inherently resistant to rot, moisture, and UV degradation.
- The Finish: Left in its natural, raw state to celebrate the organic grain. Over time, the honey-gold wood will gracefully evolve into a distinguished silvery-grey patina, a hallmark of authentic teak.
- Construction: We utilize traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, allowing the wood to expand and contract naturally with seasonal changes while maintaining uncompromising structural stability.
HIGH-TENACITY PERFORMANCE ROPE
The signature backrest is hand-tensioned using premium, multi-filament Olefin rope, creating a suspension-driven comfort that is both breathable and resilient.
- Technical Weave: Engineered for high-traffic environments, our rope is UV-stable, moisture-resistant, and designed to maintain its tension and "perfect pitch" without stretching over time.
- Tactile Quality: Despite its extreme durability, the rope offers a soft, textile-like feel, adding a layer of tactile warmth to the architectural teak frame.
BESPOKE PERFORMANCE CUSHIONS (INCLUDED)
Every seating piece in the Theodore collection is paired with a custom-tailored cushion set, engineered for an interior-level lounging experience.
- The Fabric: Upholstered in 100% solution-dyed acrylic performance fabrics (Sunbrella®, Sunproof®, or Perennials®). These textiles are color-fast to the core, making them resistant to fading, stains, and mildew.
- Quick-Dry Technology: The cushions feature high-resiliency, "flow-through" foam cores wrapped in polyester batting. This allows water to drain rapidly and air to circulate, ensuring your furniture is ready for use shortly after a rain.
Warranty
Prado Outdoor is committed to providing high-quality outdoor furniture for both residential and hospitality (commercial) use. Our warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the specified periods below, effective from the date of purchase (original invoice required). While we stand behind our products, normal wear and tear or misuse is not covered. The warranty is offered to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Warranty coverage differs for residential vs. commercial use as noted:
- Frames (Aluminum, Steel, Teak): Residential – 3 Years, Commercial – 2 Years. Covers structural integrity of furniture frames in normal use. Components like foot glides or hardware are not considered part of the frame and may wear with use. This warranty excludes finish changes due to weather or use.
- Outdoor Fabrics (Cushion Covers & Upholstery): Residential – 5 Years, Commercial – 3 Years. Covers fading or disintegration of solution-dyed acrylic fabrics under normal exposure. Stains, mildew, or damage from improper cleaning are not manufacturing defects.
- Woven Rope & Sling Materials (e.g. Batyline® mesh): Residential – 5 Years, Commercial – 3 Years. Covers breakage or significant deterioration of Batyline slings, vinyl straps, and woven polymer rope materials.
- Cushion Construction (Seams & Zippers): Residential – 2 Years, Commercial – 1 Year. Covers manufacturing defects in cushion sewing, such as seam slippage or zipper failure. Routine softening or compression of cushions is normal wear and not a defect.
- Outdoor Cushion Foam Inserts: 1 Year (Residential or Commercial). Covers loss of resiliency beyond normal softening of high-density outdoor foam. To maximize lifespan, avoid waterlogging cushions and allow them to dry out if they get wet.
- Table Tops – Glass: 2 Years. Covers manufacturing defects in tempered glass table tops. Chips, scratches, or breaks due to impact or misuse are not covered. Always inspect glass upon delivery.
- Table Tops – Ceramic & Porcelain (Laminam®): 2 Years. Covers structural defects like cracking not caused by external impact. Minor color variations or texture differences in ceramic slabs are natural and not considered defects. Use proper care to avoid thermal shock.
- Table Tops – Natural Stone (Granite, Marble, etc.): 2 Years. Covers structural defects unrelated to natural stone characteristics. Color/grain variations or surface pits are inherent and not covered.
- Umbrellas & Bases: 1 Year. Covers manufacturer defects in outdoor umbrellas and bases. Wind damage or tipping is not covered.
- Protective Furniture Covers: 1 Year. Prado’s optional covers are warranted against seam tearing or delamination. Fading or degradation from exposure is considered normal wear.
Note: All warranty periods begin on the date of shipment or purchase. Residential covers private home use; Commercial covers hospitality, contract, or any non-residential use. Prado Outdoor may repair or replace defective components at our discretion. Replacement under warranty does not extend the original warranty period.
Designer Notes
"With the Whistler Chaise, we wanted to avoid the 'flimsiness' that plagues so many outdoor sunbeds. We leaned into the concept of creating a piece that looks like it is anchored to the ground. The thick sections of teak aren't just for show; they provide a structural integrity that makes the user feel completely supported. It’s a chaise designed to feel like a permanent part of the landscape."
Whistler Chaise FAQ
Absolutely. Grade A Teak is naturally rich in oils that repel water and resist rot, making it the gold standard for year-round outdoor performance. Over time, the honey-gold wood will weather to a distinguished silver-grey patina. This is purely cosmetic; if you wish to maintain the original color, a seasonal application of teak sealer is recommended.
Yes. The Whistler Chaise comes standard with a streamlined 2" quick-dry cushion for added comfort. This tailored pad is engineered with high-performance foam that allows water to drain rapidly, ensuring your sunbed is ready for relaxation immediately after a swim or rain shower. It adds a layer of plush luxury while maintaining the chaise's clean, architectural profile.
Yes. The solid brass-and-teak adjustment mechanism offers multiple recline positions, including a completely flat option. This makes the Whistler Chaise perfect for sunbathing or napping. The mechanism is engineered to glide smoothly and lock securely into each groove.
No. One of the defining features of the Whistler collection is its "heavy timber" construction. Unlike lightweight aluminum or hollow-frame loungers, the Whistler Chaise is built from substantial, solid teak planks. This low center of gravity and significant weight ensures it remains grounded and stable, even in blustery coastal or high-altitude mountain environments.
